We did it!
We got married! And it was such a warm and loving and beautiful occasion for us because of all of you (if any of you happen to be reading this rather obscure blog!)

oh by the way that whole thing about air conditioning wasn't true!
It was wishful thinking!
the basement is cooler than the church because it's below ground level but there is no A/C.
See if you all joined Wellington we might be able to afford A/C!!!
Hint hint!
Just think of it as an outdoor wedding with shade!!!!

She made it! Claire is a U.S. citizen! Now to us this has many meanings, but what it represents in light of our forthcoming marriage is the fact that without Claire having become a U.S. citizen, our life together as a family could have been torn apart by immigration issues. That's one reason why assuring full citizenship rights for LGBTQ people--particularly marriage rights--is so crucial. At the swearing-in ceremony, they showed a short, patriotic immigration film. After the swearing in actually happened, we watched a video of Obama welcoming the new U.S. citizens. Then they played a schmaltzy, corny, song called "Proud to be an American," or I think that's the name of it...."for at least I know I'm free...." Never liked that song much. Don't feel like singing it until the day my brothers and sisters and I have all the freedoms that heterosexual Americans have.

Our Gift Registry
We finally created an "alternative" gift registry. You can find it at: http://tinyurl.com/2vcoahc
Baby baby!
Our little girl is doing really well, and so is Mamma Clairie! The little one is still the size of a papaya and has a strong heart and, says Claire from looking at the ultrasound--a cute face!
Vows
We finally got our vows in order and sent them to Pastor Dan. It's starting to look like a REAL wedding!
